National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) EMT Practical Exam Medical Scenarios Questions 2025. The National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) and most state EMS offices require a psychomotor (skills) examination in addition to the computer-based cognitive test for EMT certification.
Candidates rotate through a set of live, timed stations, where they must manage simulated patients exactly as they would in the field. The computer-based (cognitive) EMT exam is changing April 7 2025, but the psychomotor format and skill sheets remain the same for EMT and EMR until further notice.
Some states are piloting scenario-based OSCE formats, yet they still test the same core skills—patient assessment, airway, CPR, bleeding control, and shock management.
