VCLA Practice Test 2024
The following VCLA Practice Test with Study Guide is designed to help you prepare for and become familiar with the structure and content of the subtests to contribute to your effective preparation for a successful test-taking experience. The writing practice tests feature sample responses to the short-answer items, the Writing Summary assignment, and the Writing Composition assignment.
VCLA Exam Format 2024
The VCLA comprises two areas: reading and writing. Each area will be assessed by a separate subtest a reading subtest and a writing subtest. The reading subtest contains multiple-choice items. The writing subtest contains multiple-choice items, short-answer items, and two writing assignments: a summary and a written composition.
The VCLA reading subtest consists of approximately 40 multiple-choice items. The VCLA writing subtest consists of approximately 40 multiple-choice items, 3 short-answer items, and 2 writing assignments, including a written summary assignment and a written composition assignment.

To take the practice test, follow these steps:
- Read each multiple-choice question carefully and choose the ONE best answer out of the four answer choices provided.
- Record your answer to each question on the Multiple-Choice Answer Sheet provided.
- Follow the “Evaluating Your Performance” instructions to score your test and evaluate and interpret your results.
